It is necessary to go further and ensure that each activity is organized in a competitive manner, so that the entire process is up to the market.

Next, you understand what it is production logistics and how it can be optimized to benefit your results.

THE production logistics can be divided into the following steps:

• Product standardization: Items produced on a large scale and with a high degree of uniformity;

• Custom products: Developed for a specific client, according to their needs and objectives;

• Continuous processes: Where high uniformity in production is required, with total interdependence between products and production processes;

• Mass processes: Large-scale production and highly standardized products;

• Batch processes: Relatively flexible production system, aimed at meeting different customer orders on demand.

• Project-based processes: Product or service with a specific deadline to be delivered. When everything is delivered, the team reorganizes for a new project.

How to optimize production logistics

One of the main objectives of production logistics is to reduce the lead time manufacturing time — total time taken between the generation of a service order and the completion of the product. Therefore, one of the ways to optimize this process is by applying intralogistics in your company, as this makes it possible to control the entire flow of material storage.

In addition, it is necessary to have strong inventory control. strategic management this stage needs to be able to balance the two types of demand that most affect the production logistics: the demand from end customers and the demand from the factory, which requests from the warehouse all the raw materials needed to create the final product.

We hope this article has answered your questions about production logisticsWarehouse and distribution center managers must always be aware of the main concepts in the area to bring more productivity and optimization to processes.
