The system is already operational at the automaker's branch in São Bernardo do Campo.
Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem, from Bento Gonçalves/RS, is always seeking new ways to deliver value and quality in its intralogistics systems and, therefore, is attentive to partnerships that can contribute to the experience of its customers. It was with these goals in mind that the company established a commercial alliance with the Material Handling division of the Toyota Group at the end of 2019.
The project is the result of two years of negotiations between Toyota and Bertolini executives, involving conversations and visits to both companies' headquarters to evaluate the partnership, which is characterized by cooperation between the brands. “It was an active prospecting process: Toyota contacted Bertolini and suggested the partnership – it's a model that already works at Toyota Europe and Asia. This association of brands indicates to the market the mutual approval of the products – that is, Toyota approves and recommends the quality of Bertolini's products and vice versa. With this alliance, we can build complete solutions for customers,” emphasizes Sandro Gianello, head of marketing for Toyota's forklift division.
The collaboration between the two groups has proven its value, as Bertolini's customers in the southeastern region of the country can visit the Toyota showroom in São Bernardo do Campo (SP) to learn about storage structures and forklift solutions.
The showroom in São Paulo features test drive machines that can be operated on Bertolini storage systems — among the products on display are single and double pallet racks, pushback racks, dynamic racks, drive-in racks, and satellite carts. On-site, clients are greeted by specialists who answer questions about which product best suits each company's needs. Rooms are also available for small meetings, if necessary.
Toyota's forklift division arrived in Brazil more than 15 years ago and today operates throughout the country through its nearly 20 dealerships. According to Gianello, the partnership between the companies has been so successful that the next steps include recommending the collaboration model with Bertolini to other Toyota factories in Latin America.
