    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Storage systems are structures that organize raw materials and/or finished products in a warehouse. They are also used to verticalize stocks, allowing for an increase in storage area. These systems can be operated using handling equipment or even manually, depending on the specifics of each operation.
Warehousing solutions allow you to keep raw materials and supplies, as well as in-process or finished products, out of the supply chain until they are needed. In general, there are three types of warehousing: supply warehousing, buffer warehousing, and distribution warehousing.
Storage of raw materials, supplies, in-process products or finished products for a short period of time.
It involves all manual or automated movement of goods and products related to their acquisition, production and distribution. If the flow of a material connects more participants, a supply chain is created. This supply chain must be managed in a way that generates value for the customer. Improvements in the storage/flow of materials lead to: reduced costs, agility in the shipment of materials, reduced energy consumption, reduced product damage, better working conditions, and reduced damage to the environment.
Several factors must be taken into account, such as the planned use of the storage area, material flow routes/forklifts, intelligent use of space and efficient workstations. In efficient planning, the layout always takes into account future modifications, expansions in demand and built area. Some examples of criteria that help in choosing the type of structure are the range of products stored and the frequency of stock turnover.
Stored products can be classified into three categories: A, B and C. Type A products have the highest stock turnover frequency. Type C products have the lowest stock turnover frequency. This indicates that all items should be stored in a way that allows efficient access at any time, according to their picking frequency.
The inventory turnover rate represents the ratio between the quantity of items stored and the number of items demanded. This ratio indicates how many times the demand for an item can be met, according to the current inventory. The quantity to be stored is calculated based on the demand for items and a safety stock.
The PBR pallet, or Brazilian Pallet, is defined by a series of criteria established by the Brazilian Supermarket Association, ABRAS, to make the product safer, more practical and sustainable for the supply chain. Some of the criteria that regulate this pallet model are that it must be made of wood, with dimensions of 1000 x 1200 mm. More information can be found with the regulatory body.
Bertolini Storage Systems is a reference in providing solutions for the segment, as it has superior quality products. Its main products are Self-supporting, Mobile Bases, Cantilever, Satellite Car, Dynamic System, Shelving, Flow Rack, Mezzanine, Pallet Truck, Drive-in, Push Back, Stacker Crane, among others.

Bertolini Storage Systems products are widely known for their quality, versatility and ability to serve the most diverse segments, including: cold rooms, logistics centers, warehouses, auto parts, distribution centers, warehouses, large stocks, production buffers, perishable product warehouses, industries, retailers and much more.

Some basic criteria, such as variety of items, operating speed and storage capacity, are taken into account when developing the best project for each client. The professionals at Bertolini Storage Systems have the necessary knowledge and can help you with this solution.
First In First Out, in Portuguese, first to enter first to leave. This is a storage logic widely used in the stock of perishable products. This model allows the removal of items that were purchased or produced first from the structure. Bertolini Storage Systems provides FIFO systems, such as Dynamic and Drive Through, among others.
Last In First Out, in Portuguese, last to enter first to leave. This is a storage logic where, for example, the goods produced and stored last are the first to be sold and removed from the structure. Bertolini Storage Systems provides LIFO systems, such as Drive in and Push Back and others.
According to NBR 15524-2:2007, the following criteria can be established for carrying out inspections on storage structures: a) Daily inspection: This can be carried out by an internal, trained team to detect easily visible anomalies, such as stringers or uprights deformed due to use; b) Weekly inspection: This can be carried out by an internal, trained team and must detect the verticality and straightness of the structure and all elements of the 1st and 2nd levels, with notification, qualification and communication of damages; c) Monthly inspection: This can be carried out by an internal, trained team and must verify, in addition to the verticality of the installation of all levels, general aspects of order and cleanliness with notification, qualification and communication of damages. In these cases, Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem can provide support, please contact us; d) Annual inspection: This can be carried out by technical personnel from the user or manufacturer, and must verify all of the above items with notification, qualification and communication of damages; e) Extraordinary inspection: carried out when any event occurs that compromises the integrity of the structure. In any of these cases, Bertolini Storage Systems can assist you. Contact us and learn more about the inspection plans we offer.
Bertolini Storage Systems has a complete line of safety items that are offered with the products, such as column protectors, upright protectors, guide rails, pallet guides, pallet stops, etc.
Each project developed by Bertolini undergoes a careful analysis by our engineering team, so our team must be consulted for any changes. This procedure will ensure correct and safe instructions on how to proceed at the time of the change.
