Push back delivery strengthens partnership between Bertolini and Frigorífico Silva

Modified on: May 18, 2020
This solution was chosen to expedite the removal of pallets from the storage system.
In November 2019, Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem made another successful delivery to Frigorífico Silva, a company that has been present in the Rio Grande do Sul meat market for over 50 years. The company already had Bertolini's dynamic and static storage systems and now has the push-back system under the Best Beef brand — which carries the title of being "the true, best-tasting meat".

The Bertolini team of experts, already familiar with the company's needs, found the push back system to be the perfect solution to prevent employees from entering the storage system with forklifts and to speed up the removal of pallets from the area.

The goal is quite simple: by speeding up the removal of pallets from the storage system, Best Beef streamlines its operations and optimizes internal flows. In this way, it can bring to the tables of thousands of Brazilians meat with unparalleled flavor, a high degree of tenderness, and a superior standard of cleanliness in its cuts. All this with the help of Bertolini's push-back system.

It's important to understand how this system works within industries and factories. Push back can be used in distribution centers and is especially recommended for businesses that deal with frozen and refrigerated storage—as is the case with Best Beef.

The operation works through LIFO, an acronym for Last In, First Out. That is, the last product that entered the system is the first to be removed. It's a simple yet extremely effective methodology: when an item is removed from the channel, the others move smoothly, due to gravity, towards the front at the same speed as the product is removed.

The main characteristic of push-back systems is the absence of speed-regulating brakes, making it a low-cost option for companies. This solution is highly recommended for medium inventory turnover and has a compact structure with only one aisle for storage.
