Discover the main possible combinations of the Pallet Rack
1. WIDE CORRIDORS
The most common use for pallet racks is the configuration with wide aisles (3.2 m). Storage is normally carried out frontally, with reach trucks. Storage at floor level is normally carried out with hand pallet trucks or electric forklifts.
Advantages:
Low storage cost;
Easy movement with forklifts;
Manual picking at floor level.
2. LOWER LEVEL FOR PICKING
In general, box picking is done directly on the pallet resting on the floor. For picking loose items, shelves accommodate boxes on one or more levels close to the ground.
Advantages:
Low storage cost;
Easy movement with forklifts;
Manual picking at floor level.
3. DOUBLE DEPTH
Double-deep storage requires forklifts with scissor lift forks. As a rule, scissor lift trucks are equipped with cameras on the forks and a monitor in the operator's cabin, which allows the operator to observe the positioning of the second pallet.
Advantages:
Low storage cost;
Easy movement with adapted forklifts;
Higher storage density.
4. NARROW CORRIDOR
Narrow aisles (1.8 m) allow for optimum space utilization and high cubic capacity. Order pickers transport the operator to any picking level. Guides in the aisles by inductive wire or guide rail ensure that the vehicle always remains at an optimal distance from the installation.
Advantages:
Great use of space;
Ideal for storage of large quantities with medium and high turnover;
Safe working environment, as all collection is carried out using equipment.
Manual loads can be picked up/picked up at any storage level.
5. MULTIPLE LEVELS
In facilities with multiple levels of operation, items can be picked simultaneously in several work orders, maximizing the number of picks. Bertolini pallet racks are designed so that they can be combined with other storage models, such as shelves, dynamic gravity racks and flow racks.
Advantages:
Simultaneous processing of collection orders;
Multiple storage models ensure greater addressing efficiency;
Suitable for all pallet models.
6. MOBILE BASES
The elimination of aisles optimizes the available storage area. Significant gain in storage space, up to 100%. The aisles are opened when necessary, and all positions can be accessed.
Advantages:
Ensures high storage density by optimizing the available area;
Opening of corridors synchronized with the automatic switching on of lights, generating savings in the operation.
7. AUTOMATED WAREHOUSE
With a high initial investment, automated warehouses have a short payback period, as they guarantee increased productivity, high reliability and reduced operating demands.
Advantages:
Fully automatic system ensuring a safe working environment;
Reduction of order execution times;
Warehouse management by WMS (Warehouse Management System) software.
