Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem, a reference in its segment in the South American market, installed the systems that equip the Friato Alimentos warehouse, in Pires do Rio, Goiás.
Bertolini has been with Friato, a food company, for over 15 years, having equipped the company with its facilities over the past decade and a half. These facilities were all built in the city of Goiás.
How were the structures used chosen and what types were installed?
Bertolini had to conduct a detailed study of the site, analyzing the possibilities of several different types of storage structures, to choose the one that would best fit the layout. The high number of pallets that would be moved was taken into consideration, as well as the type of product to be stored – frozen foods.
This thorough assessment helped to highlight that the ideal system would be a structure with two types of products used together, Dynamic and Push Back.
Through the Dynamic system, with a FIFO mechanism (first in, first out), Friato is able to have greater control over products with higher turnover and also over expiration dates, by controlling the entry and exit of goods.
The Push Back system uses LIFO (last in, first out), which allows for care with products that have a slower turnover.
Furthermore, the time taken to remove pallets from the chamber for loading was reduced, resulting in a shorter delivery time for products to the end customer.
