The Dynamic System installation was developed to meet the specific demands of Vasconcelos' main manufacturing plant.
Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem completed this May the expansion work on the Dinâmico system at Vasconcelos' main manufacturing unit, located in Araguari (MG), one of the most modern industrial parks in the segment, fully robotized and with ISO 9001 international quality management certification.
With the need to increase inventory, given its market expansion plans, the company requested the expansion of its existing storage system, which has been in place for several years. This system allows all raw materials to be moved and stored safely, while maintaining the company's high quality standards, including precise control of the shelf life of its products. The work began in February and also addresses projects involving changes in logistics.
Vasconcelos operates in the basic food sector, with well-established products such as rice, beans, coffee, sugar, salt, soybean oil, and food baskets. It also owns its own fleet of vehicles, has a raw material collection center in São Borja (RS), and eight distribution centers located in the Central-West and Southeast regions of the country. This is exactly the type of customer for whom the Dinâmico system was designed, as it stores the finished product already palletized and awaits shipping schedules for shipments.
“These are products that have the characteristic of not being able to be stored without expiration date control, which is why the Dinâmico product fit perfectly,” highlights Israel Schimitz, Commercial Supervisor at Bertolini. He explains that the solution found by Bertolini to increase the amount of finished product in stock was to verticalize the operation using the Dinâmico system, which can work with a utilization rate of up to 71%, in addition to guaranteeing FIFO (First In, First Out) in the operation for controlling the expiration dates of the stored pallets.
Since there was variation in pallet weight among the mix of products that would be placed in the structure, Bertolini technicians used the special dimensioning of the brand's speed controller as a differentiating factor. This controller is designed for loads ranging from 300 kg to 1500 kg. “The reducer works based on the force input it receives, and not on a pre-set adjustment of the track. In other words, the client doesn't have to divide the pallets by weight and allocate each one to a specific channel, which ends up increasing their costs and internal handling processes,” notes Schimitz. Another important detail of the installation project is that it was designed so that the system loading point is close to the production area exit, and the pallet retrieval corridor is close to the shipping area.
The Dynamic System
The Dynamic system is a gravity-powered sliding system that allows for maximum space utilization and faster loading and unloading of pallets, requiring only circulation areas in the loading and unloading zones. It is suitable when it is desired to control shelf life using the FIFO (First In First Out) principle. Pallets are loaded at the upper end of inclined tracks and slide by the action of gravity, with their acceleration controlled by speed regulators.
